Breed : American Striped Skunk (Captive bred in the UK)

Info : Stitch, our skunk, was born and bred in the UK. Born on the Summer Solstice in 2024, he is named after the Disney character who sums up their nature and personality. As he is only young, he is not yet going out on visits, but I am working with him daily to build a bond and win his trust and love. He should be able to make visits in a similar fashion to Stoosh. Watch this space, but I am hoping that he will be ready to visit you from the end of 2024 / start of 2025

Benefits : A skunk will raise smiles and compassion wherever they go – guaranteed to make you laugh and smile and feel warm inside. They win hearts, as they are very gentle and unassuming animals. Totally non aggressive, playful instead and also happy to sleep on laps, with the correct stroking technique (!) They do not smell, as their reputation suggests, unless they are provoked to do so. They therefore surprise those attending sessions, with their pleasant smell and gentle, yet playful, nature. They calm, amuse and make people feel content, thus releasing serotonin and oxytocin with a side dish of adrenalin.
